Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE:
Provides legal opinion on all matters relating to the business, including labor and management issues and concerns. Drafts, reviews and assists in negotiating agreements/contracts that may be required in the business. Attends to cases in litigation, including appearances in court or other government agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides legal advice/opinion on all matters relating to the business
Advises and represents the company before government agencies, such as regulators, judicial and quasi-judicial bodies, and legislative bodies
Supports the business in managing and mitigating legal, regulatory, and commercial risks and assist in implementing solutions and compliance
Drafts, reviews and assists in the negotiation of contracts and other legal documents ensuring always that the interest of the business is amply protected
Supervises the work of the Legal Counsels and staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed lawyer with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, including at least 3-5 years in a publicly listed company
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions is a plus
